#1: their efficient public transportation system
you can get anywhere by using the public transport. ANYWHERE. even the zoo. they have a tram that goes straight to the entrance of the zoo. HOW COOL IS THAT? and they are so efficient that even a 3 minutes delay was announced by the station. kalau kat sini, setengah jam pun tak sure depa announce ke tak akan delay. and me, being a fan of public transport, is of course ecstatic by this fact. their system sticks to the schedule given, and their network basically covers the whole of melbourne city area. 10 points for that!
Kuhaz has this small card of train schedule that departs from south geelong to melbourne central/southern cross station; this train system, which is similar to our KTMB (although the efficiency of the system is not the same) was always on time, making it easier for us to plan the day ahead. we could plan effortlessly what time we should push off from her house to the station which was only a 10 minutes or less walk. and most importantly, we get to plan the time we'd like to arrive at the airport when i needed to catch the plane back to KL.
getting around the melbourne city centre, we opted for trams. which comes within an interval of 3 minutes. these trams has one of the most comprehensive network ever, well, i dont actually know the whole area it covers, but Kuhaz does, and i gladly followed her. (kalau nak suh pegi lagi sekali and nak suh aku tunjuk mane nak naik, HARAM TAK TAU). but yeah, like i said, its extensive coverage made it easier for us to get around melbourne city centre. we even went to the zoo using the tram system.see...no need cars..very cost-efficient and environmental friendly. :)
